QUOTIENT

Description: Returns the integer portion of a division. Use this function when you want to discard the remainder of a division.

Syntax: QUOTIENT(Numerator, Denominator)

• Numerator is the dividend.

• Denominator is the divisor.

Remarks:

• Both arguments must be numerical.

Example:

• QUOTIENT(5, 2) = 2 [integer portion of 5/2]

• QUOTIENT(4.5, 3.1) = 1 [integer portion of (4.5/3.1)]

• QUOTIENT(-10, 3) = -3 [integer portion of -10/3]
