The System Hierarchy tab contains commands related to using the System panel.
Add System
adds a new top level (system) item to the System panel. The new item will
be added to the bottom of the list.
Add Next Level
Item adds a new item to the next level below the item that is currently
selected in the System panel. The new item will be added to the bottom
of the list for that level.
Add Same Level
Item adds a new item to the same level as the item that is currently
selected in the System panel. The new item will be added to the bottom
of the list for that level.
Insert Same
Level Item adds a new item to the same level as the item that is
currently selected in the System panel. The new item will be inserted
above the selected item.
Add
RBI Equipment allows you to select one of the equipment types that
are eligible for RBI analysis and add the item to the system hierarchy.
Add
Component allows you to select one of the component types that
are eligible for RBI analysis and add the item to the system hierarchy.

the RBI System Hierarchy.)
Convert
to Equipment allows you convert an item in the system hierarchy
to an RBI equipment item. (See Converting
System Hierarchy Items to RBI Equipment. This command is available
starting in version 9.0.3.)
PRD
Components are
available when working with a pressure relief device.
Assign Components opens a window where you can select which existing components to the pressure relief device.
Go to Component displays the properties of the selected component.
Remove Component removes the component from the pressure relief device.
Calculate
Risk calculates
the results of the RBI analysis.
Risk
Categories opens a window where you can view or modify the Risk Priority rating scales
that will be used for all RBI analyses in the current database.
Management
Score opens a window where you can set the Management Systems Evaluation
score for all RBI analyses in the current project.
Item Permissions
is available only for secure databases. It opens the Item
Permissions window, which allows you to specify the user accounts
that can view or modify the item.
Process Flow
Diagram opens the process flow
diagram associated with the selected item. If you have not yet created
a diagram for the item, you will be prompted to choose whether to create
a blank diagram or create blocks automatically based on the item’s FMEA
or control plan.
FMEA Block
Diagram opens the FMEA
Block diagram (also called a "Boundary Diagram") associated
with the selected item. If you have not yet created a diagram for the
item, you will be prompted to choose whether to create a blank diagram
or create blocks automatically based on the selected portion of the system
hierarchy.
Cause and Effect
Diagram opens the existing cause
and effect diagram (also called a "fishbone diagram") associated
with the selected item. If you have not yet created a diagram for the
item, it will be created automatically.
Properties
Customization opens the Properties
window where you can change the properties that are available for
the items in this project.
Attachments
allows you to manage the linked or attached
files for the selected item.
Renumber
All Items renumbers all items based on their position in the system
hierarchy and resets all of the automatically generated system numbers.
This cannot be undone.
In the window that displays, click the Apply
to reference number field check box to have RBI
generate an item number that is stored in each item's Reference Number
field. You may want to do if the numbers fall out of sequence.
Update Short
Descriptions updates the text in every Short Description field
to be the same as the Full Description field values for all applicable
records in this project. These changes are not recorded or displayed in
any change log.
Import Prediction
Items allows you import systems
from a Lambda Predict analysis in to the current project. This command
is available starting in version 9.0.2.
Import MPC
Systems allows you import
systems from an MPC analysis in to the current project.
Import Hierarchy
Items allows you to import XFRACAS
systems into the System panel.
Associate Item
associates the currently selected item with the XFRACAS hierarchy. To
remove the association, choose Remove
Association.
Synchronize
Item synchronize the item properties for the currently selected
item and its associated items in the XFRACAS hierarchy.
Import Failures
synchronizes the failures and cause in the FMEA with their associated
records in XFRACAS.
