Prediction Tools Tab

The Prediction Tools tab contains commands related to performing derating and allocation analysis, and it includes utilities such as plots and reports.

Data Views

Calculation Information opens the Calculation Information window, which displays a report of the failure rate and pi factors for the item that is currently selected in the system hierarchy.

Plot Viewer creates a plot for any standard item (i.e., , , , , or ) or block ( or ) selected in the system hierarchy. Plots created in this way can be saved with the project by clicking the Save icon . If you do not save the plot manually it will not be saved.

Report opens the Select Report window which allows you to create a template-based report for your predictions.

Allocation

Allocation opens the Allocation window, which allows you to use any of five allocation models to logically apportion the reliability of the selected system or block into lower level design criteria such that the cumulative reliability still meets the requirements.

Derating

Apply Derating opens the Select Derating Standard window, which allows you to choose a standard, either published or user-defined, to apply to the selected standard item (i.e., , , , or ). From this window, you can also create or edit custom derating standards by clicking the Add or Edit icons.

Remove Derating removes the applied derating standard from the selected standard item.

View Component Derating opens the Component Derating window, which plots the derating curves of the selected component, if available.

Share

Publish Branch publishes the failure rate models of all sub-items of a standard item or block. This includes the supplemental models of any sub-blocks.

Publish Item Model publishes the failure rate of a selected item as a model resource, making it accessible to all Synthesis applications.

Publish Block Supplemental Model publishes a failure rate model that represents the portion of the assembly's failure rate that is calculated at the block level, if any (e.g., interconnection failure rates for a MIL-217 analysis, modified failure rates for a Bellcore/Telcordia analysis, etc.).

IMPORTANT: If the analysis has never been published, this will create a new model. If the analysis has already been published, this will update that existing model. Republishing a model changes the resource, which is available for use throughout the project. (See Publishing Models from Failure Rate Predictions.)
